The German town of Wernigerode is celebrating chocolate at chocolART 2026, a five-day festival running from 28 October to 1 November. The event transforms parts of the historic town centre into a destination for chocolate tastings, specialist confectionery and handcrafted sweet creations.

Chocolatiers, pastry chefs and chocolate producers present their products across locations including the Market Square, Nicolaiplatz, Kohlmarkt and Breite Straße. Visitors can explore a variety of chocolates and pralines while discovering the techniques and creativity behind artisan confectionery.

The festival also extends beyond the market stalls. Its chocolate trail, known as the chocoPFAD, connects participating cafés, restaurants and shops, giving visitors more ways to experience chocolate around the town.

Praline courses and hot chocolate add to the programme, making the festival an opportunity to explore chocolate through tasting, learning and local experiences. The combination of artisan products and Wernigerode’s historic streets gives chocolART a distinctive setting.

As the festival brings together producers and visitors, it also highlights the continuing appeal of specialist chocolate and the craft behind it.

At Macao Cacao, we bring readers the latest chocolate events, confectionery experiences and developments from around the world.
